It’s been a busy few weeks since you heard from me last but I’ve had my head down (kinda) and my feet on the ground pounding the pavement and making those dollars for my upcoming trip. I realised thought that I am terrible at consistent posts so I am going to start trying to give updates weekly as so much is happening that sometimes I forget to take the time to actually write or post about it. And even having this thought to start a weekly series a few weeks ago, was something that was pushed back due to the crazy life I lead and the lack of time.

In short I’ll give you some brief dot points of some wins and things I’ve been working on:

  • I have successfully migrated my website now fully over to an almost satisfied level from Wix to WordPress.
  • I created a new website for my event which was super basic, but recently just gave it a make over and have 2 more in progress.
  • I have been working on my next big event coming up in Manila in August, which is taking up every inch of free time I currently have, but it will be worth it.
  • Finally put together my Sponsorship proposal for my event (I always put these off) and it actually paid off and will be announcing something exciting very soon.
  • I was a Brand Ambassador at the Australian Hair expo the weekend just gone.
  • The last two weekends before that I bartended an engagement party, did an booth set up for ECConnect at the IoT Festival, was a photo booth attendant for a 21st Birthday, was a door girl for a local music show and got my second gig as a wedding witness (yes, I actually got paid to be someone’s witness!)
  • I recently hit 3K followers on my @traveling.throughlife Instagram! Woo! Thanks all! Not going to lie that was actually really hard work but I was determined and was putting so much time into it every day, now I am on my road to 5K before Manila!
  • I’ve finally figured out PINTREST and Tailwind (which is quite possibly the best thing ever invented for people like me with automatic scheduling for numerous accounts) haha

So in brief that’s some of the things I have done over the last few weeks. I have been working so much lately, I don’t even remember when I had a free weekend off. But it’s funny, I work so much and I love the hustle of working so many jobs that I don’t even think of it as work anymore, I think of it as my enjoyment on my path to freedom. Even when I successfully get everything launched, I’m still going to keep doing what I’m doing freelancing, consulting and working a bunch of random and odd events and jobs because I just love to do it, I love being around different people and I love new experiences. But I also need to learn to slow down and stop, or my dreams and efforts won’t happen as they aren’t going to build themselves. I keep looking at my calender thinking to myself, ohhh I have heaps of time, then this week it hit me, and in actual fact no I do not.

When I first started this blog I was determined that yep, I was going to start blogging, freelancing and be able to quit my job within 6 months or by this coming August when my next big trip is. Now, it’s not that I was being naive, or maybe I was, and in fairness I probably still could do that as I do get a lot of freelancing work and turn a lot down, but then I’ve had time to think about it and a part of me is like, maybe I should wait, make the sacrifices for another few months whilst I’m in the progress of still putting everything together that I’m working on and then stop working full-time. Working full-time has its pro’s and con’s for sure. And at the moment I’m torn over which way to go but I think my end goals are more important than that decision.  On one hand full-time work offers me the financial stability whilst I am still building and working on everything else, but on the other hand it holds me back so much as I’m left with little to no time after working all day, then going home and working on my event and social media, and then working different events every weekend. So I am undecided what is better at the moment as I really need the time to focus on my projects and business ventures.

I have my first weekend off in a long time, and as much as I know how valuable that time is and I need it as the next month is quite literally going to be insane after this, part of me is still like, I should work. I am a bit addicted. But I decided I am putting myself on a time out. I have the wedding expo next weekend and then a meeting for my event which I need to plan and organize for (remotely as it’s in Manila) and then another dance event the weekend after that. So I need to hit the pause button so that I can actually prepare for Manila also as I haven’t even gave that a second thought.

So as I mentioned before I am working on a few things on the side that aren’t ready yet but hopefully soon will be, and everything kind of ties into one thing or another and I know it seem’s like a lot, but what can I say, I get inspired all the time to create and do new things and can’t help myself. So here’s just a few of my goals for the next few months:

  • Currently I am studying (or supposed to be studying) my Diploma in Wedding & Event planning
  • I am looking to set my business up properly which will be specialising in Events, Social Media & Consulting
  • I’m working on creating a merchandise line in connection to my events & travels
  • I am in the process of putting together a social media course to help those that participate in my events and follow my journey, but of a different kind, not just the usual ones you see, I actually started this a few years ago but never completed it as I tend to coach people more on one and it gets better results, but I feel this is going to help new people and international people I work with on another level.
  • I am putting together a social media seminar that I want to hold when I go over to Manila
  • I need to actually plan my Philippines trip and where I want to go and what I want to do in the short amount of time I have, originally it was going to be 3 weeks or indefinite but I think for now, I will keep it as 2 weeks, do as much as I can and see as much as I can, and come back to Melbourne and focus on getting my business off the ground as a few weeks after that I am planning possibly to hit Malaysia and then after that will be Sydney for our big National and International event.
  • Edit all my videos from my last trip (still haven’t actually don’t this yet, I know, I’m the worst)
  • Learn how to use light room and pre-sets!
  • Finish the blogging course I started by Marina De Giovanni (actually pretty good so far).
  • And I am on my road to 5K followers on my Instagram and 10k on my Facebook for before I head to Manila.

So as you can see, I am probably overly ambitious, but I am driven and motivated, and determined to get everything I want to achieve done, so I am sharing my work and goals with you all to hold myself more accountable but also to show you why I go through stages where sometimes I am ignoring my blog or Instagram, which no matter how busy I am I need to learn to stop doing that.

I know this blog is more on a personal note and less on a providing you with awesome content to help you all. But I hope sharing my updates is something others can relate too and I’d love to hear some of your own stories and what your goals are and any wins that you have had recently as I really want to get to know my readers!

As always,

Happy Travels

Weldon, you sound very busy, making money though. I think I should consider being someone’s witness too to get some coins. Thanks for the heads up

This is an inspiring read for me. I am hoping that my blog grows and that my audience is large enough to sustain income at some point in the near future. I am currently using WIX, I am curious why you moved to WORDPRESS?

Informative post. I am a new blogger as well, juggling motherhood and working shifts. Boy blogging is hard work.

Goodness. You are one busy person. This is great post but don’t forget to take care of yourself! It’s so important. But you sound like a whiz at multitasking. How do you do it all?

Woooow… You reminded me myself during my students life. Not only studying, but also working, private Turkish classes, traveling, various events, boyfriend abroad, AIESEC (if you were Aiesecer or you know some members, you know what it means 😉 ). In a week maybe one evening I could just sit and think. I was exhausted, but I really enjoyed it. After two real days off I was feeling very strange 🙂

I’m wishing you the safe and successful journey to Philippines and waiting for the article from this exciting adventure 🙂
